Eat Durian Fruit
As part of the BBC's "50 Things To Eat Before You Die" I needed to try Durian fruit.
According to Wikipedia the fruit is most famous for smelling and tasting disgusting. Food writer Richard Sterling says "its odor is best described as pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock" and others claim it is like civet, sewage, stale vomit, skunk spray and used surgical swabs.
During my recent visit to Bristol, Jody and I discovered some in an oriental supermarket, and took some home for a taste test. Cleverly, we decided to do this while drunk... thus adding to the likelihood of vomiting.
Here's the vid we made:

Great that you wanna try durian, but unfortunately that's not the real thing. Fresh durian fruit varies in colour and the best is the Thai Durian.
Yep that looks like a durian cake thingy, it's not the actual fruit. Try it the next time you travel to Southeast Asia. :)
It's my favourite fruit in the world.
